Kabinett #3: Alexander Rishaug and Marius Watz

09.02.2008

0047 and Kabinett proudly present Sonic Vision, an audio-visual performance with Alexander Rishaug and Marius Watz.

Alexander Rishaug is a sound artist, producer and musician. His sound is melodic, melancholic and quiet. With minimalistic electronics, abstract beats, glitches and digital noise, he explores tones and textures creating a detailed, rich and subtle sound, always with a sharp focus on structure, rhythm and melodies.

Marius Watz works with visual abstraction through generative systems and parametric processes that are realized as pieces of software. His work is known for its bold colors and strong geometric composition. For live performance he creates visual software instruments that use the live sound signal as a parameter, mapping image to sound in a synaesthetic union.

Kabinett is an initiative for international electronic music and sound art. The project aims to present young, emerging artist from all over Europe to a new audience. It fosters a  culture of creative risk taking and experimental approaches to sound through a monthly program of  concerts, events, and workshops. Kabinett will present a quarterly program with different themes and focus areas.  We want Kabinett to be a place to hear new sounds, and a place for collaborations across borders.

Kabinett is a non-profit project sponsored by the The European Commission's Youth in Action Programme.
