Year of Architecture 2011

In 2011 the National Association of Norwegian Architects is celebrating 100 years of architectural practice. 0047 has been commissioned to organize the program for this one year long, nation wide event.

The National Association of Norwegian Architects wishes to invite Norway to a one year long investigation of architecture. Rather than making a traditional anniversary, the idea is to use this opportunity to create a nationwide project that reflects upon architecture's role in the Norwegian society. Several projects are underway, locally, nationally and internationally. An array of projects from open house, fundraisers, research, debates, publications, web projects and exhibitions are being planned. The goal of the “Year of Architecture” is to draw lines between history and the present, lines between the different practitioners of architecture, and lines between architecture and society, and  hence create a new and better understanding of the infrastructure and premises for architectural production in Norway.
